Library Life or Questions Your Professor didn't Prepare You For

A Site about Libraries, Information Technology, and the Random Questions You'll Encounter Along the Way

Ok, maybe that wasn’t so brief…

Sorry about the rather lengthy hiatus folks, I’ve been really swamped with work. However, due to this break from my blog, I’ve got a lot of reviews and news items to catch up posting about, so here’s a rough overview of what I’ll be posting about over the next few months:

December

  • Review of The Grownup: A Story by the Author of Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

January

  • A look at the hot titles your patrons will be asking for this coming year
  • Programming at a branch library or; I didn’t see that coming
  • Review of Spark Joy: An Illustrated Master Class on the Art of Organizing and Tidying Up by Marie Kondo
  • Measure twice, cut once: Adventures in a makerspace

February

  • Academy award nominees: what your patrons will be asking for
  • Review of The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend by Katarina Bivald
  • Coloring books: Not just for kids
  • Networking for the busy librarian
  • Review of Ashley Bell: A Novel by Dean Koontz

March

  • Getting the word out: Advertising your programs & services
  • Confessions of a title-challenged librarian: Tips & Tricks for memorizing popular titles, authors, and series
  • Review of Off the Grid (A Joe Pickett Novel) by C.J. Box
  • Review of Me Before You (movie adaptation)
  • Interdepartmental communication or; how to avoid needing to send that clarifying email

Now these topics are subject to change (and I’ll probably add a few more posts if something perks my interest), but this should be the last hiatus I have for a while.
